A Catastrophe in the Kitchen

For Grammar this week I had to write a about a catastrophe in the kitchen.  Here is my story.
  (this isn't a true story)

A Catastrophe in the Kitchen

One day our family was driving home from our family vacation in Washington.  After a very long drive we finally got home.  Dad walked in the house first, and a puddle of water came out the door. The kitchen had FLOODED!  Mom screamed and everyone panicked.  We figured out that someone had bumped the dishwasher on our way out.  We were doomed!

The next day we ripped out the soggy hardwood, then we figured out that the bottom cabinets were moldy and we would have to get new ones. We called the cabinet store where we got our old cabinets so they would match the top cabinets.  The cabinet people said the cabinets that we had had been discontinued, so we would have to get new top cabinets too.  That was a long day.

The next day Dad had some leftover tile that he had at his equipment yard sent to our house.  Then we got a call saying that the truck carrying the tile went over a big bump and cracked all but two tile. Oh No!  Dad said that two tiles would at least save some money, so they still brought the two tiles.  Then some guy dropped them as he was bringing them to the house.  What else could go wrong?

The next day they finally got the tile in, and they were bringing the new granite counter tops.  I was hoping nothing would go wrong.  I jinxed myself!  While they were bringing the new granite they dropped it as they were setting it down.  It shattered into millions of pieces.  Then they wouldn't give us a refund, and it wasn't even our fault.  It was the counter top people's fault.

The next day we finally got the new cabinets installed and new granite counter tops in.  We were finally done- at least we thought so. We soon found out that actually we weren't done. The flood ruined all the appliances.  So we called the appliance store, but they didn't pick up, it turned out it was Labor Day, and they were closed.  Go figure.

The next day we called the store again.  They said that they couldn't bring the appliances till next week!  So we waited, and waited, and waited.  It was terrible; we had to store our food in the church fridge, but we got to eat out a lot.

Finally, it was the next week, and the appliances were  here.  We were done putting our kitchen back together.  Or were we?

What I did this summer story.

What I did this summer.

This summer I did a lot of fun things.  The last weeks of May I had my birthday and my Grandma Daniels' had her birthday.  I had a late night with my best friends Allyson and Claire for my birthday.

In June we went to Colorado Springs.  I was so excited to go.  My favorite part was seeing the giraffes at the zoo.  I also loved to see family.  We went on fun hikes and, played at the house that my Grandma and Grandpa Moxley rented for us to stay in. In June it was also my cousin Callie's birthday.  She was at our house over her birthday, so we went to a pool called Indian Springs.  It is a hot springs with fun slides and a diving board.  We all had a great time.

In July we went to Utah to help my Aunt Sarah move.  I had a fun time seeing aunts and uncles and my Grandma Moxley.  We went to a yummy restaurant that serves all  kinds of meat called Tucanos.  The dinner was super yummy. (Thanks Grandma).

In  August we played lots and tried to go to the Marina every morning.  We played football and went on walks.  I had a great summer!!!!!

I had a good time in school today.

I had a good time in school today. I did a lot of things. I did math, science, social studies, daily activity, reading, grammar and writing.  In grammar and writing I learned how to write cursive. We had a lot of fun. We had a really good time in science. We have been learning about different Biomes. The one we studied today was water areas. There are swamps, lakes, rivers, oceans. Alligators live in swamps and some rivers.
I hope to do an experiment in science soon. I like doing experiments.

Kindergarten!

I'm Livia and I started Kindergarten. On the first day of school I drew that picture. It's a picture of me. I have blonde hair, and greenish, bluish eyes. I colored myself wearing the pink dress that I was wearing.
I've been practicing writing my name (Livia) and Aaron, Ashton, Ella, Mom, Dad, and Preston's name. That's all in my family.
I think school is fun.

First Day of school

The first day of school was really, really fun. I just started third grade. We have been learning about Ecology in Science.  We chose to study about aquatic biomes while studying ecology.
In Grammar we have started to learn how to write in cursive. We do three letters a day. So far we have done A, B,C,D,E,F,G,H, and I. It is fun learning how to write cursive.
We have been learning about the different holidays in Social Studies, and why we celebrate them.

What is a good neighbor?

What is  a good  neighbor?  A  good  neighbor  shares. Our neighbor let us ride their four wheeler. They let us borrow their tractor. They invited us to dinner. They let us pet their dog.

I can be a good neighbor too.  I can clean a park. I have picked up a persons trash can when it blew over. One time I picked up toilet paper that was all over a neighbors yard.  I can be a good neighbor.
